What is Hashing?
One-way fingerprint of data — verify without ever storing the original.
A hash function maps input to a fixed-size fingerprint that is practically impossible to reverse. Passwords are stored as salted hashes (bcrypt/argon2) so a database leak doesn't leak passwords; any change to the input produces a totally different hash.
